As an associate attorney with Hathaway & Kunz, Jacob Beckett assists in several practice areas, including digital assets, blockchain, business, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and banking.

Originally from Colorado, Jacob has been living in Wyoming since 2008. After graduating from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2017, Jacob took a gap year to travel throughout Europe. Returning to Laramie in 2018, Jacob began his studies in law. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming with honors in 2021.

While in law school, Jacob assisted Professor George Mocsary as a Research Assistant, contributing to the development of multiple law review articles, including one on insider trading laws and one on the social-media-driven trading expressed during the GameStop phenomenon. Notably, he also had his own law review article published, advocating for the implementation of a blockchain-enabled voting system in Wyoming.

Jacob works with clients in innovative industries to develop equally innovative solutions. His fluency in emerging technologies benefits those clients seeking truly unique and aptly fitting arrangements and agreements. A prime example of this fluency was his speaking engagement at an international conference geared toward multi-jurisdictional solutions to crafting legal entity structures for DAOs. He continues these pursuits through ongoing attendance at industry events and conferences.

When away from the office, Jacob enjoys attending live music and perusing contemporary art galleries and museums. An amateur artist himself, Jacob takes pleasure in experimenting with acrylic paints and plastics. As any true Wyoming resident, he can often be found exploring nature and the outdoor activities it offers.
