Mr. Kunz has been a staunch advocate for the protection of Wyoming’s economy and natural resources since founding the law firm with his mentor Stanley K. Hathaway in 1975. Very proud to be a Wyoming attorney, Mr. Kunz takes his duties and responsibilities to the legacy and future of the state and its residents very much to heart.

Before founding the law firm, Mr. Kunz served as an Attorney Advisor to the Office of Hearings and Appeals in the Department of the Interior; Legislative Counsel for U. S. Senator Clifford P. Hansen; and Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior, Stanley K. Hathaway. Highlights of Mr. Kunz’s distinguished legal career include the permitting of the LaBarge Project in southwest Wyoming—an essential component to the economies of several counties; natural gas pipelines and soda ash processing facilities; numerous Powder River coal mines; northeastern Wyoming betonite facilities; and wind power projects.

Through his steady and consistent work over the decades, Mr. Kunz has proven himself a reliable and powerful force in Wyoming law. Fellow attorneys have recognized his superior work, awarding him an AV Preeminent rating (5/5) according to the Martindale-Hubbell peer review—representing the highest caliber of legal expertise and ethics.
